Krav maga - combat system developed for the Israeli Defense Forces, which consists of a combination of the most effective techniques from boxing, jiJu jitsu, judo, muay thai, wrestling and other martial arts. Unlike mixed martial arts (MMA), Krav Maga focuses on real situations and the most effective counterattacks, also with defenses that permanently damage the aggressora
We can distinguish two main components:
Self Defense – Includes many techniques designed to enable people who know them to defend against attack, minimize damage and defeat the attacker. This part of Krav Maga consists of movements enabling defense against various forms of attacks by the attacker (armed or not) in various positions: standing, sitting, lying.
Melee – Teaches how to neutralize an opponent quickly and effectively. It combines elements related to real combat, such as tactics, feints, dodges, combining various attacks, psychological aspects of combat, etc. These elements are developed during exercises that allow you to gain the ability to maintain control in the event of a threat.
Krav Maga itself has no restrictions in the form of rules, so it can't be called a sport. Krav Maga is a self-defense system.
